Mannion Passive
House Builders Ltd are sustainable builders with a passion for low
energy, passive and zero carbon homes covering Ireland and the UK. We
see this form of building as the future construction method for
everybody. We have a desire to create new homes that have considerably
less impact on the environment and your pocket!
Our dependence
on oil is bringing us all down, record prices for oil in 2008 have
triggered a global recession. In a few years from now our gas will be
coming from Russia and we all saw what happened in the Ukraine in early
2009.
So if we design
and build with energy costs in mind we can reduce our dependence on oil
and gas ensuring a more stable economy and a cleaner healthier
environment for future generations.
The future: a
house that makes money for you, not costing you, a house that will
produce power for your car or get a cheque form the Utility company not
a bill!
It’s not
impossible and it does not have to cost the earth.
Through proper
planning and design a passive house can be built at an affordable
price, the rewards are high, close to zero heating costs, excellent
thermal comfort and no worries about oil price hikes, the monies you
save on heating can go towards reducing your mortgage .
The passive
concept has been around for a long time, it has being tried and tested
and it does work. So why wasn’t it been the standard all the time?
Simple, our climate is mild and oil was cheap, so our two leaf block
systems with some insulation was accepted, in colder climates this
system hasn’t been used in fifty years. Its time for change and from
2016 all new buildings in Europe will be built to the ‘Passiv Haus
Standard’.
Mannion Passive House Builders Ltd can manage the design and build of
your new home from concept through to realisation.
Eco
